Testimonials

This has been a journey of and for health. Both of my parents had Type 2 diabetes and I knew I had to take charge of my health when a routine blood sugar test came back elevated. I wanted serious, expert knowledge on how to approach this, and I was referred to Kathy. Kathy’s professional expertise and guidance were central to my being able to approach and achieve these health goals. Working one on one, Kathy educated me about food, nutrition, and eating. So much so, that for all my years of following food groups or points systems, I really had no idea. She gave me simple principles that allowed me to lose weight safely and effectively without feeling deprived or becoming obsessed. What I really appreciated about working with Kathy, is that she not only exhibits a wealth of knowledge about food and nutrition, but she understands the psychology behind eating habits. She guides you in building healthy, positive, and realistic habits and how to troubleshoot and come up with real-life strategies around challenges. The tools and principles provided will be used throughout your lifetime. Taking charge of your health and moving towards a healthy weight is a journey likened to a long-distance run, not just a sprint. For me, Kathy has been the perfect teacher who appeared at just the right time.

Nutrition

If you are looking for someone to honestly, empathically and wisely counsel you on a healthy approach to food and exercise, look no further than Kathy Kraus. I am still amazed that I have maintained a healthy weight and fitness plan for some 16 years after first sitting down with Kathy. I still remember the examples of one serving size of an apple, one portion of pasta, and our discussions of a less intense and more balanced approach to exercise. I cannot guarantee you that if you work with Kathy you will have the same success (and find true joy in a pool and at a track) but I do not think there is a better choice than Kathy for this work. I would say "hard work" but it wasn't hard with Kathy. It was, at times, intense, and it took some time for certain key concepts to sink in. But Kathy is a warm ear and a big brain. I had failed with another nutritionist. I had failed with a hypnotist. I had failed at Weight Watchers (multiple times). I am indebted to Kathy for being the road to my success to health and fitness. Being fit? It doesn't get old. Ever. A decade later, I still feel proud.

When I first started working with Kathy, I weighed 194. When I finished with her. I weighted 155. And the lessons she taught me then have stayed with me.
